The Audrey Hepburn (kind of) style
When it comes to style and elegance, there is not a more inspiring muse than Audrey Hepburn. Chic simplicity, impeccable lines, perfect accessories, timeless fashion: 50 years later she remains an incredible source of style inspiration. I am no Audrey Hepburn and there is no point in pretending. But there are precious basic tips to be learnt from her: keep things simple, know your strengths (and weaknesses), reveal but with measure, lengthen the silhouette, and don't shy away from bold accessories (ok, last rule I did not really follow for this post and I actually think this look would have been improved from a pair of cat eye style sunglasses).
Audrey Hepburn's style was incredibly versatile and it would be presumptuous to aim to give a comprehensive overview through this post. But based on the attempted outfit above, here are the sort of items you may want to invest in: off shoulder tops (totally in fashion right now, which is a plus) and / or mariniere style tees, boat like collars, details (bows), A-line skirts, ballerina style pumps, and accessories of course (patent handbags, hats, sunglasses).
